1. Pantai Cenang:
Langkawi is very famous for its beaches. Pantai Cenang is one such beach town that is profound for its beautiful beaches, fancy nightlife, and vibrant markets.
Pantai Cenang Beach is considered the most beautiful beach in Malaysia. The white sand beaches give a mindblowing panoramic view of the island.
At the beach, you will find people sunbathing, swimming, and playing volleyball. The lighting and decoration of the nearby streets and markets make them more beautiful and a never-miss spot to visit.
It is advised to visit this spot in the evening, so you can watch the sunset at the beach and then go for a walk in the market. The local food being sold on the stalls here is also delicious.
2. Langkawi Cable Car and Skybridge:
This spot is located about 650 meters above sea level, on Mt. Machining. It is a three-station cable car covering a distance of about 1800 meters.
You can have a 360° panoramic view of the island from the middle and top stations. Buy a ticket costs RM5 for adults and RM3 for children to walk on the sky bridge which hangs 100 meters above the Mt. Machining.
It is one of the world’s largest curved suspension bridges. There is a lot more to do at this spot, buy a ticket costs RM 55 for adults and RM40 for children, and then you can enter SkyRex, SkyDome, and 3D Art Langkawi.
You will need around 4-5 hours to experience all the activities. The times are from 10 am to 6 pm.
3. Telaga Tujuh:
Located in Gunung Mat Cinang, the Seven Wells Waterfall, or Telaga Tujuh, is steeped in local legend. Locals believe that fairies once bathed in its waters, enchanted by its beauty.
The waterfall is renowned for its healing and medicinal properties. To reach it, you can hike up to Gunung Mat Cinang or take a cable car. The waterfall features seven stunning pools, offering a picturesque and tranquil spot.
You’ll also find refreshment stalls nearby. The trip, including transportation, typically takes 3-4 hours, depending on whether you take a dip in the pools.
4. Kuah Town:
This town is located in the southeast of the main island. It is the capital of Langkawi Island. In this town, you will find some old-fashioned shops. You can buy tax-free liquor and tobacco here.
To shop for the real western stuff you have to move to the outskirts of the town. Kuah Town is a perfect place for foody nomads as Kuah Town offers you a wide range of restaurants serving Chinese, local seafood, and much more.
There are many hawker stalls along the streets selling local food. The major attractions of the Kuah Town are Eagle Square and Lagenda Park.
5. Underwater World:
This spot is located about 15 15-minute drive away from Langkawi International Airport. It is a 15-meter walkthrough underwater tunnel. Here you can see a wide range of fishes of various sizes and other aquatic animals.
It is an amazing experience to watch these sea creatures from so close. You can see sharks, giant stingrays, green turtles, harbor seals, rockhopper penguins, seahorses, mandarin ducks, flamingos, and much more.
The Underground World is the house of more than 500 species of sea creatures. To enter this underwater world you have to buy tickets that cost RM43 for adults and RM33 for children.
Timings from Monday to Thursday are from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm and from Friday to Saturday 9:30 am to 10:30 pm.

1. Ais Kacang or Bean Ice:
People also know this as ABC Special. Ais Kacang is fresh, cold, and sweet, made from shaved ice bricks topped off with dry fruits, syrups of various flavors, and colored jellies.
If you buy Ais Kacang from a local vendor then you will get toppings of kidney beans, corn kernels, and peanuts. You can buy one of the best Ais Kacang from a vendor across the airport.
2. Squid:
Langkawi is rich in its seafood produce. You will find this dish at every restaurant and every local food vendor.
This dish is similar to fish and chips. The squid is rolled in spices to soak up the flavors and then wrapped in the bread.
The breaded squid is deep-fried and served with sour and sweet sauces to add unique flavors.
3. Pajeri Nenas:
It is a very popular dish in the whole Malay and it has Indian roots. This is a vegan dish, but you can ask to add dried shrimp or fish if you want some umami flavor.
In Malay, it serves as an accompaniment to nasi biryani and mutton curry.

1. Reach Langkawi by air:
Langkawi has its own international airport welcoming flights from all around the world.
The airport is about 20 kilometers from the town of Kuah and 8 kilometers from Pentai Cenang.
2. Reach Langkawi by water:
The most popular way to get to the island of Langkawi is through the city of Satun in Thailand. You can take the international ferry from the port in Satun to reach Langkawi.
You will reach Langkawi from Satan in about half an hour. The ferries depart thrice a day from Satan at 9:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 4:00 pm. The ticket costs about RM 40.
You can also get ferries from Kuala Perlis, Kuala Kedah, and Penang.
