Ways to get into Mumbai from the airport:
1. Taxi:
A taxi is the most convenient way to get into the city. Outside the airport you will find 2 kinds of taxis:
Pre-paid (cool cabs): They are a bit expensive as they are air-conditioned and you can also book them before taking off.
Normal metered taxis: They can be identified by their yellow and black color and are not air-conditioned.
NOTE– i) Always travel in registered taxis. Keeping traffic and weather conditions in mind try to go with the cool cabs as they are more comfortable and the charge difference is minimal.
ii) There is also an option of sharing taxi rides. If you feel confident you can share your taxi and split the fare with your co-passenger.

2. Auto Rickshaw:
This is the most popular and cost-efficient way to travel in Mumbai. These are yellow and black 3-wheelers. They are always metered, you don’t need to negotiate. You can get an auto-rickshaw from terminal 1B domestic departures. To get an auto rickshaw from terminal 2, you first have to go to the nearest railway station.
- NOTE- There can be a few auto-rickshaws without a meter. Always hire a metered taxi to avoid overpaying.

3. Â Train:
The Mumbai Airport is not directly connected to the airport. The nearest railway stations are Vile Parle and Andheri. You can reach the railway station by taxi, auto or bus. It will take you 20 minutes to reach the railway station. After reaching the station, get your ticket from the counter and board a train to either Marine Lines or Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. The train departs every 10 minutes.
- NOTE- Avoid local trains if you are not familiar with Mumbai or if you have lots of luggage because the Mumbai locals are overcrowded.Â

 4. Bus:
This means of transport is not very convenient if you are not familiar with the bus routes. If you love adventure then you can catch a bus from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Terminal 1 – Route 312 bus will take you to the nearest railway station (Vile Parle and Andheri East). The first bus starts at 04:50 AM and the last is at 10:50 PM.
Terminal 2 – Route 321 and Route 308 buses will also take you to the nearest railway stations ( Vile Parle and Andheri East)
