Pub street, officially known as “Route 8”, is located next to the Old Market. It is the heart of the tourist center in Siem Reap.
Your trip to Siem Reap is incomplete unless you visit Angkor Wat and Pub Street. This street is full of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, street food shops, street vendors, and lots more.
This place really comes alive after 7 in the evening. This is the best place to spend your evenings and nights. Additionally, the neon lighting and the vibe there will soothe you for sure.
Many places here are open 24/7. As the sun goes down, loud music from the pubs and bars and party atmosphere takes over the street You will find youngsters dancing and jumping around.
You will never feel uneasy at all. The locals and the staff in bars and restaurants are all friendly. You will see “Fish Massage” signs all over the street.
Sit on the seats arranged around the glass tank having fish of various sizes. These fishes love to eat the dead skin from your feet.
You can also go shopping here. You will find a wide variety of souvenirs including scarves, ornaments, sculptures, paintings, and clothes.
There are also a few bands on the street playing traditional Khmer music for donations. After 5 pm the road is blocked off to motor vehicles, which makes it a relaxing place to stroll.
You will also enjoy beer pong tables, great music, themed nights, and inexpensive food and drinks. Until dawn, you will see many backpackers, flashpackers, young, old, and everyone in between enjoying the atmosphere of the street.
Because of the affordable prices of beer, you will see hoards of drunken tourists on the street. You will also find some locals selling drugs illegally on the street and inside bars and restaurants.
Beware of such people and of the women beggars too as they will approach you and ask you to buy milk powder for their sick-looking child. Once you buy them what they want, they will resale it at half price and get the money.

Pub street is located in the center area of Siem Reap. Pub Street is about 1 km away from the Siem Reap area.
You can reach here from Siem Reap by walking. You can ask anyone on the street for a way to Pub Street and they will point you in the right direction. Another way to reach Pub Street is by hiring a tuk-tuk.
You will find a lot of tuk-tuks on the street and they all know the way to pub street. It will cost you only a few dollars.
Remember the name of your hotel to get back to your place or take a business card of the hotel from the staff so that you can show it to the tuk-tuk driver and he will drop you at your place.
