The name of this market came from the Cambodian language “Chanang Leong” which means a big spot. Nang Leong Local Market is located in the Dusit District about 5 minutes walk away from the Democracy monument.
This market officially opened its doors in the 1900s. Nang Leong Local Market is one of the best food markets in Bangkok. However, here, you can try recipes that have been cherished and passed down for over 200 years.

In the middle of the market, a food court has ready-to-eat food, snacks, and desserts. There is also a small section in the market where you can find fresh produce like fresh vegetables and meat.

Nang Leong Local Market is not on a city train route. The nearest BTS Skytrain Station is National Stadium Station, which is 3 km away from the market.
To get to this market from Bangkok, first reach the National Stadium Station and then take a tuk-tuk for another 3 km to reach this market.
2. Reach Nang Leong by taxi:
If you want to directly reach the market without switching vehicles, take a taxi that will drop you at the Nang Leong Local Market.
It will be a bit more costly than getting a BTS, but it is more convenient and fast.
