Things to do in Bohol:
1. Chocolate Hills, Bohol:

These are more than a thousand hills spread over an area of 50 square kilometers in the towns of Carmen, Batuan, and Sagbayan. The hills earn their name “Chocolate Hills” as green grass dries to a chocolaty brown during the dry season, spanning late November to May.
Locals believe that two feuding giants hurled rocks, boulders, and sand at each other. The fight resulted in the formation of this huge mess of hills. The two areas that you should consider visiting here are the viewing deck of the Chocolate Hills and the Sagbayan Peak.
2. Balicasag Island, Bohol:

This is one of the most popular diving and snorkeling spots in the Philippines. This spot is located about 6 km southwest of Panglao. A reef rings this island, declared a marine sanctuary.
Here you can enjoy the impressive submarine cliffs as deep as 50 meters. The only resort here is named the Balicasag Island Dive Resort.
Here you can enjoy feeding the fishes or various species and colors. You can also see the pawikan or giant turtles. You can also hire a local boat to get around the island.
3. Danao Adventure Park Tour:

Danao Adventure Park Tour is located in Magtangtang, about 72 km from the City of Tagbilaran. This is one of the best and most famous places in Phillippines for water and outdoor activities.

This beach is located on Panglao Island, 20 km from Bohol’s capital city. Its 1.5 km long white sand stretch, stunning reefs, and crystal clear water will surely leave you fascinated.

5. Hinagdanan Cave, Bohol:

The Hinangdanan Cave means “Laddered” in Cebuano. A farmer accidentally discovered this cave while clearing his land, noticing two holes.
He dropped a stone and heard a splash. Then he built a ladder “Hagdan” and discovered this cave. Limestone forms the composition of this cave.
It has a water lagoon that is about 10 to 12 meters deep. You will find plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops near the cave.
Here, you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and taking amazing pictures.
Food to try in Bohol:
1. Calamay:

Calamay is a sticky sweet delicacy. It consists of well-milled glutinous rice, coconut milk, sugar, and chopped peanuts.
Margarine, peanut butter, and vanilla can also flavor calamay.
Filipinos typically use it as a sweetener for various desserts and beverages.
2. Chorizo de Bohol:

These are round pork sausage balls with a hint of garlic and sweet flavors. It is made of ground lean pork, ground pork fat, salt, saltpeter, sugar, anisado, paprika, black pepper, garlic, and chilis.
Chorizo is often served in the staple breakfast such as sinangag, fried rice, and eggs.
How to reach Bohol:
1. By flight:
Bolo has its international airport named Bohol-Panglao International Airport. You can get a taxi from outside the airport to the city center of your hotel.
If you are traveling from Manila to Bohol you can fly in one of the 5 flights that fly direct to Bohol. The distance between Manila and Bohol is 715 km.
2. By train:
Bohol is well connected with nearby cities by railway network. If you are heading from Manila then you should take a train of route number LRT 2 or PNR MC.
3. By bus:
You will find plenty of buses running from nearby cities to reach Bohol. From Manila to Bohol bus will take about 24 hours and one side trip ticket will cost $59.
The bus will have 12 stopovers during the journey. Bus routes from Manila to Bohol are offered by Silver Star Liner.
4. By ferry:
You can reach Bohol from nearby places such as Cebu City by ferry. From Manila, the ferry departs at 6 pm. It is recommended to take a ferry from Manila to Cebu.
Then take a Roro Ferry from Cebu to Bohol. You can also get on the Oceanjet Ferry which will take 2 hours to take you from Cebu to Bohol.
How to get around Bohol:

Once you arrive in Bohol, there are various ways to get around including taxis, tricycles, minicabs and jeepneys, buses, V-hire, and habal-habal. For short distances taxis and tricycles are recommended.
Tricycle is a typical Filipino mode of transport. It can carry up to 4 passengers at a time. For a longer distance, you can go for jeepneys, buses, and habal habal.
V-hires are air-conditioned vans that can carry 12 passengers at a time. They cost double the price of a bus ticket but they are twice as fast too. Habal-Habal is driving in the back seat of a motorbike.
It is a bit risky because some drivers like to drive fast over bumpy rough roads.
